Such a clever idea
Honestly didn't expect him to enjoy it this much. I put a few treats in the drawer and he starts scratching away. We've had it for about two weeks and it's been working really well for his front nails.

Boards like this sell for up to $59.99 elsewhere. Ours starts at $54.99 with free US shipping.
Most dogs need a few short treat-training sessions. Start with the board flat, reward any paw touch, then build up to real scratching. The free guide walks you through it.
Both file nails the same way. The Pro Kit board sits on an adjustable wooden stand, so you can start flat and raise the angle as your dog learns, and it comes with 2 spare grit sheets for when the surface wears smooth. Its drawer slides out but doesn't lock. The Classic sits flat on non-slip pads and has a lockable drawer. Both only do the front nails.
Small to large dogs. Both boards are about 13.8 × 9.8 in (35 × 25 cm).
The Classic ships in 1–3 business days and the Pro Kit in 1–6, both from our partner's overseas warehouse. Most orders arrive 4–12 business days after shipping, with tracking.
Every dog learns at their own pace. If it isn't working out, email support@goodtireddog.com within 30 days of delivery and we'll make it right.

Really happy with this
My golden retriever caught on after a few short sessions. He gets excited whenever I bring the board out now. It's easy to use and I can already tell a difference in how sharp his nails are.

He figured it out pretty fast
Took my dog a couple tries to understand what to do but once he realized there were treats inside he was all over it lol. Been using it for a little over a week and his nails already feel smoother.
🖤 Made for black nails too
Clippers take a big bite with every squeeze, and on dark nails you can't see the quick. That's how accidents happen.
The board takes off a tiny bit at a time, the same go-slow approach the AKC suggests for dark nails. There's no single cut to get wrong.
🐕 About the size of a laptop
13.8 × 9.8 in, with room for big paws, and it slides under the couch when you're done. The Classic sits flat on non-slip pads. The Pro Kit adds an adjustable incline stand and 2 spare grit sheets.
Most dogs get the hang of it in a few short treat sessions, and our free step-by-step guide comes with every order.

Their idea, not yours
Drop a few treats in the drawer. On the Classic board, flip the lock so they can smell the reward but can't swipe it open.
Your dog scratches the rough surface to get at the treats. Every swipe files the front nails down a little.
Open the drawer and let them have the jackpot. A few minutes, a few times a week.
Getting started
Lay the board flat (on the Pro Kit, set the stand to its lowest angle). Let them sniff it, and reward any paw that touches it.
When they paw at it, say "yes" and treat. Then wait for two scratches, then three, before rewarding.
Once they're scratching, put treats in the drawer (lock it on the Classic) and open it as the big reward. Pro Kit owners can raise the angle once they've got it.
A few minutes at a time, ending while they still want more. Check their nails each week.
Every dog learns at their own pace. If yours isn't getting it after a fair try, our 30-day guarantee has you covered.
If it arrives damaged, breaks, or just isn't working out for your dog, email support@goodtireddog.com within 30 days of delivery and we'll make it right with a replacement or a refund.
Questions
Treats go in the drawer. Your dog scratches the grit surface to get to them, and that scratching files the front nails down a little each time.

It's mainly for the front nails. Some dogs can be trained to use their back feet, but that takes longer, so plan on an occasional back-nail trim.
Flat boards tend to file the middle toes most. The outer nails and dewclaws may still need a quick touch-up now and then.
Small to large dogs. Both boards are about 13.8 × 9.8 in (35 × 25 cm). The Classic is 1.2 in thick and sits on 4 non-slip pads.
Supervise use, especially at first. It's not for dogs with sore, cracked or injured paws. If a nail looks split or bleeds, stop and check with your vet.
